Vickram Bahl has interviewed royalty, global politicians, business people, diplomats, artists, thinkers and newsmakers. His weekly interview series, Insight -with Vickram Bahl, was telecast on Doordarshan India, the National Broadcaster of India, for seven years, another long running series was Opportunities Overseas, also on Doordashan News, which ran for 10 years and also provided interview programmes for leading global broadcasters like Russia Today (RT) and Voice of Russia (VOR), among others.
World leader he has interviewed included President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen of Finland, Prime Minister Ference Guyurcsany of Hungary, Prime Minister Jose Socretese of Portugal, Former Prime Minister Esko Aho of Finland, President Anibal Cavaco Silva of Portugal, President Festos Mogae of Botswana, Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt of Belgium, Former President Fidel Ramos of Philippines, Former Prime Minister Giuliano Amato of Italy, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg of Norway, President Vaclav Klaus of the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Donald Tusk of Poland, Prime Minister Meles Zenawi of Ethiopia, Former President Roza Otunbayeve of Kyrgyzstan, Former Prime Minister George Papendrous, President Tarja Halonen of Finland and President Dmitry Medvedev of Russia, President Khaltmaadin Battulga of Mongolia, among others.
He has also interviewed top Indian leaders such as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Amar Singh, Subramanian Swamy, Sheila Dikshit, to name a few.
Business leaders such as N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman Infosys, Merill J. He has also hosted then Prime Minister Vladimir Putin of Russia in a live internet interaction with the people of India in 2010. It was perhaps the first such interview and interaction to be held on a digital platform by a visiting head of government to India.
